Goodbye to Yesterday

— Lyrics —

[Verse 1]
We walked those halls like dawn
Back when the world felt wide
Red lockers, worn-out shoes
And names we kept inside

Now time has written more
Than any of us knew
But every face I see
Still brings me back to you

[Pre-Chorus]
And I hold on tight
To the years we shared
To the laugh we lost
And the love still there

[Chorus]
It’s so hard to say
Goodbye to yesterday
Goodbye to yesterday
We carry you along

It’s so hard to say
Goodbye to yesterday
Your names still shine
In every song

[Bridge]
We light this love in your honor
We speak your names out loud
Through every tear and every prayer
You still make us proud

So sleep in peace, dear classmates
Your memory will stay
In Elizabeth High
You’re never far away

[Final Chorus]
It’s so hard to say
Goodbye to yesterday
Goodbye to yesterday
We carry you along

It’s so hard to say
Goodbye to yesterday
Elizabeth High
We sing you on and on

It’s so hard, (instumental)

It's so hard to say
Till we meet again
